This Refund Policy explains how BookSpace handles refund requests, credit corrections, subscription cancellations, and billing issues. It should be read with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Operator and Checkout Providers
BookSpace (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides digital book-creation and publishing-preparation services. For billing, subscription, or refund inquiries, contact billing@bookspace.ai.
Payments are processed by independent third-party payment providers. The provider handling your transaction is identified at checkout and on your receipt. The applicable provider processes payment under its own terms and privacy policy.
The external payment provider acts as the Merchant of Record or contractual reseller for the purchase. In that role, the provider handles payment processing, invoicing, applicable indirect taxes and VAT, currency conversion, and payment-related refund execution under its buyer terms.
BookSpace assesses service-related refund requests under this Policy. Where a refund is approved, the payment provider returns the funds to your original payment method. A provider's buyer terms, or mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction, may provide rights beyond this Policy.
General Refund Principles
Refund requests are subject to the following policy, the applicable checkout provider's terms, and mandatory consumer-protection laws.
- 14-day refund window: You may request a refund within 14 calendar days from the date of payment, provided that your book project has not been completed and delivered as described in Section 03 below. The 14-day period begins on the date the relevant payment is made.
- Completed and delivered books: A book purchase is considered completed and delivered when the project's authoritative status reaches 100% completion and all deliverable files requested in the original order have been made available to the user. Once both conditions are met, the payment for that book project is non-refundable under this Policy, except where a refund, remedy, or other right is required by applicable law.
- Incomplete or undelivered projects: If the project has not met both completion and delivery conditions above, you may request a refund within 14 calendar days of payment. Refund requests are reviewed in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.
- Technical failures and billing errors: Verified duplicate charges, incorrect charges, unauthorized payments, incorrect credit deductions, and qualifying technical failures are reviewed separately. The completion of a book does not prevent correction of a verified billing error or any remedy required by law.
- Mandatory consumer rights: Nothing in this Policy excludes or restricts a consumer right, withdrawal right, refund, or other remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
What Counts as a Completed Book?
For the purposes of this Refund Policy, a book project is considered completed and delivered only when both of the following conditions are satisfied:
- The authoritative backend records show that the project has reached 100% completion.
- All deliverable files requested in the original order have been successfully made available to the user.
A progress indicator showing 100% without the required deliverable files does not, by itself, constitute completion and delivery.
The following do not constitute a completed and delivered book:
- An exploratory brief or proposed outline;
- A draft or manuscript that remains in progress;
- A production pipeline that failed or was interrupted;
- A project displaying 100% completion when the requested deliverable files have not been made available.
If you believe your project status or file delivery has been recorded incorrectly, contact billing@bookspace.ai or support@bookspace.ai with the project name or ID. We will review the available records.
Subscriptions, Renewals, and Cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval disclosed at checkout until cancelled.
- You may cancel through the account controls provided or the subscription-management link in the checkout provider's receipt, where available.
- Cancellation generally stops future renewals; it does not automatically refund a payment already made.
- A refund request for a subscription payment must be submitted within 14 calendar days of that payment and is subject to the eligibility rules in this Policy.
- The completion and delivery of a book project does not automatically determine the refund eligibility of every separate subscription charge. Each payment is assessed according to the applicable purchase, the services delivered, and applicable law.
AI Credits and Additional Credit Purchases
Additional AI credits may be purchased only by users with an active Creator, Pro, or Publisher subscription.
- Creator: $39 per month, including 1,000 AI credits per month and support for books of up to 150 pages.
- Pro: $67 per month, including 2,500 AI credits per month and support for books of up to 300 pages.
- Publisher: $119 per month, including 6,000 AI credits per month and support for books of up to 500 pages.
The plan features, prices, credit allowances, and billing intervals applicable to a purchase are those displayed at checkout.
Refund requests relating to additional credit purchases must be submitted within 14 calendar days of payment and are subject to the general eligibility rules in this Policy, including whether the relevant book project has been completed and delivered. Verified billing errors and mandatory legal remedies are handled separately.
Cancellation of a subscription does not, by itself, constitute a refund request for previously purchased credits or subscription payments.
Technical Failures and Credit Restoration
When supported by the product's credit system, credits reserved for a job that fails or is aborted before completion should be released according to the system's credit rules.
If a verified platform error causes a failed delivery, an incorrect deduction, or an incorrect credit balance, contact billing (billing@bookspace.ai) or support (support@bookspace.ai). We will investigate and, where appropriate, restore credits or provide another reasonable correction. Restored credits are normally returned as credits, not cash, unless a monetary refund is required or appropriate under applicable law or the circumstances.
Duplicate Charges, Unauthorized Payments, and Billing Errors
Please contact us promptly at billing@bookspace.ai if you believe you were charged more than once, charged the wrong amount, charged for the wrong plan, or charged without authorization.
We will review the information available and coordinate with the checkout provider where necessary. If a duplicate or incorrect charge is verified, we will arrange the appropriate correction through the provider's process. Unauthorized-payment claims may also need to be reported directly to the provider or your payment institution.
The completed-book criterion is not intended to prevent correction of a verified billing error or a remedy required by law.
How to Request a Refund
Contact our billing team at billing@bookspace.ai (or customer support at support@bookspace.ai), or use the BookSpace Contact Center linked in the website footer.
Please include:
- the email address associated with your BookSpace account;
- the order or transaction ID shown on your receipt;
- the payment date, amount, and currency;
- the checkout provider named on the receipt; and
- a short explanation of the request. For a technical issue, include the project name or ID and any relevant error message.
Do not send full payment-card numbers, card security codes, passwords, or other authentication secrets.
We aim to respond to refund and billing inquiries within three business days. This is a response target, not a guarantee that a refund will be approved or completed within that period.
Refund Processing and Timing
If a refund is approved, it will normally be submitted through the checkout provider that handled the purchase and returned to the original payment method, subject to the provider's procedures. The time it takes to appear depends on the provider, payment method, and financial institution. Any estimate provided by the provider should be treated as the most relevant estimate for that transaction.
Refunds are generally made in the original transaction currency. The amount shown by your bank may vary due to exchange rates or fees applied by the bank or payment method.
A refund may cause the related subscription benefits, purchased credits, or other purchase entitlements to be removed or adjusted, subject to applicable law and the specific circumstances. We will not use this provision to remove an entitlement that you are legally entitled to retain.
Consumer Rights and Withdrawal Periods
Nothing in this Policy limits mandatory consumer rights or remedies available under the law that applies to your purchase.
Some jurisdictions provide withdrawal or cooling-off rights for certain distance purchases. For digital services or digital content, the availability and duration of those rights may depend on the type of purchase, whether performance has begun, the consent or acknowledgements obtained at checkout, and local law. We will assess requests according to the applicable legal requirements and the checkout provider's process.
Do not assume that a single withdrawal period or rule applies to every customer or every purchase. Where applicable law provides a right that conflicts with this Policy, the law takes precedence.
Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you have a problem with a purchase, contact BookSpace billing (billing@bookspace.ai) or support (support@bookspace.ai) and the provider named on your receipt so we can attempt to resolve it. You retain any right to contact your bank, card issuer, payment institution, or relevant authority.
The checkout provider manages chargebacks and payment disputes under its procedures. Where reasonably necessary and lawful, BookSpace may provide relevant transaction, account, and delivery records to investigate or respond to a dispute. We may restrict access where there is credible evidence of fraud or abuse, subject to applicable law.
Policy Changes
We may update this Policy when our service, checkout providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version and update the date above. Changes will not remove mandatory rights or remedies that apply to an earlier purchase.
This Policy forms part of our customer-facing terms and should be read with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
